Farming Biodiesel Inc. hosted the first Jatropha Conference & Expo at their working farm located in Desert Center, Calif., from May 15 through 17, 2009. With more than 60 participants attending the Jatropha Conference & Expo, Farm Director Michael Reardon offered live demonstrations and tours throughout the 320-acre farm as well as detailed explanations of Jatropha farming processes including seed and field preparation, planting and irrigation systems. Attendees also heard presentations from guest speakers on a variety of subjects relating to the farming and production of Jatropha, green energy, technologies and industry trends.

Farming Biodiesel Inc. is now in its second phase, mass planting 3,000 acres of jatropha and implementing biodiesel production from used cooking oil, biogas from live-stock waste for energy production, solar energy, and windmills for water, aeration, and power. Picture of farms as they were circa the 1980's.
By using a variety of organic farm methods and the development of all renewable energy sources available to the farm, such as solar energy, wind power, and a planned biogas energy plant capable of producing seven to ten megawatts, FBI Farms is the first energy production plant that leaves no carbon foot print.
Farming Director Michael P. Reardon “The farming system we have developed allows us to mass produce food and fuel without having a negative impact on the environment. It also creates jobs, economic stability, security, and renewable energy now. We are doing our part to lead the U.S. off of foreign oil. When completed in January 2009, the farm will be utilizing all of its natural renewable resources, have virtually no carbon foot print, and be able to produce fuel, energy, and food in mass quantities out of desert waste lands.” Future plans include a co-op program with golf courses. FBI Farms can apply parts of their farming system to the golf course industry by cutting petrol based chemical fertilizer use and cost in half with organic products. By utilizing the ground cover for carbon credits, you can create external revenue and help to reverse the effects of greenhouse gases while providing outdoor recreation. Tours We offer 1-day and 2-day tours. Tours last approximately 4 hours and will be available by appointment only. The fee per tour is $150.00 per person per day (Lunch and Beverages provided). Information on area lodging and scheduling a tour can be found at the top right of this screen. If you would like a tour, please fill out our tour request form. We offer special pricing for Schools, Government Officials, Media, and Large Groups.Demonstrations We can demonstrate how jatropha should be planted and maintained, including watering, pruning, and general care of the crop. We also have detailed information on how you can integrate this bio-fuel crop into an existing farm. Our farm system integrates fish livestock, fruits, vegetables, and a biodiesel fuel stock crop, enabling the farm to be self sufficient. On display: biodiesel production from used cooking oil and 300 acres of totally green farm running on solar energy and biodiesel alone. We will also discuss the latest independent lab studies on jatropha curcas. Jatropha Plantation FBI Farms is the only farm to grow its plants directly in the field and flood. We have integrated 75 acres of either vegetables or pasture with every 100 acres of jatropha with no additional cost. Tilapia, Catfish, Cattle, Goats, Lamb, Pigs, Chickens All animals are used for the production of fertilizer, power, and food. Biodiesel, Biogas, Solar, Wind, Jet Fuel The farm utilizes renewable energy sources to become the first commercial Energy Farm. Advanced Farming Management Our software and hardware packages are able to track, manage and forecast all budgets, crops, animals, wells, and maintenance. The packages can separate the farm into product divisions or maintain all as a complete farm, in a USDA and OSHA approved format. By following a strict farm conservation program for all farm processes, we maximize yeilds with as little impact on the surrounding natural wildlife and environment as possible.
Here at Farming Biodiesel Inc. We are committed to creating a renewable, clean alternative to petro diesel. By reclaiming desert wastelands and turning them into profitable farms, the effect is immediate on the local economy, by providing jobs, housing, and health insurance to over 1,000 people per 1,000 acres of farmland. Biodiesel can be mass produced and distributed at a cost of $3.50 per gallon. We are currently in a planting stage of the first 1,000 acres and involved with 14 projects in 5 different countries.
We thank you for your interest and encourage you to research all alternative sources to petro fuels. We feel the only way the United States will become free of petrol for fuel is by educating people and taking action even if it’s only to write your congressman to support jatropha farming for biodiesel.
